Win yourself a cash prize of £100 and the chance to hear your story performed in full by professional voice actors (that’s us by the way).
We want you to send us a Halloween themed flash fiction story of no more than 666 words. It can be any style, any genre, anything you like, as long as it’s themed around Halloween. All you have to do is listen to Episode 24 of the Failing Writers Podcast (available here from Monday 4th October) for a specific word or phrase that you MUST include in the story. To make sure you don’t miss it subscribe to our podcast or sign up to our newsletter. Then email your masterpiece to us at email@example.com by Friday 22nd October.

Entry is open to any writer worldwide over the age of 18 and entries must be the original and unpublished work of the entrant which is not currently submitted for publication nor for any other competition or award. One entry per entrant. Entrants retain copyright in their work.
Free to enter.
There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary.
Entries must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 23.59 on Friday 22nd October in pdf, doc, docx or txt formats. Please include a front page stating your name, country, daytime telephone number and email address. Please also state story title and word count. Maximum word count 666 words (excluding title). All other specific entry requirements can be found in Episode 24 of the podcast available from Monday 4th October at www.failingwriterspodcast.com/24
Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely for the purpose of contacting the winners and will not be disclosed to a third party. Winners will be announced on our social channels including publishing the name and country of location of the winner.
Judges will assess entries on originality, creativity, characterisation and readability. Their decision will be final, with no correspondence being entered into.
Winners will be revealed on Sunday October 31st. The Failing Writers Podcast retain the right to publish winning entries in the podcast which shall remain freely available online indefinitely.
The prize of £100 shall be paid in pounds sterling via Paypal within 2 weeks of the winner being revealed.
