The Failing Writers Podcast 3rd Annual Writing Contest, in association with Scrivener

We are The Failing Writers Podcast. So, for this year's flash fiction writing contest we thought it would be apt to go with "Failing" as the theme!

As well as our biggest ever prize of £500 the winner will have their story turned into a piece of audio drama by a team of professional voice actors and broadcast on this very podcast.

Plus, we’ve teamed up with the lovely people at Scrivener to give away free copies of their amazing writing software as runners-up prizes.

So, what do you have to do to win this £500 prize? Just write a brilliant, inspiring story around the theme of "Failing" in 500 words (or 499 words, or 498 words, or 497 words, or 496 words... well, you get the idea. 500 words or less) AND don't forget to include the mandatory special phrase.

To hear the phrase you need to weave into your story, just listen to episode 14 of season 3. Then all you need to do is write your fantastic flash fiction story and email it to failingwriterspodcast@gmail.com by 9am (UK time) on Friday 29th September 2023. Anything we receive after that time will be printed off and set fire to, before putting it right at the bottom of the bin. Which is quite a bit of faff. So, please, don't miss the deadline!

Good luck!!

Full terms, conditions and entry requirements are below so please make sure you read them first as we wouldn’t want you to miss out on a technicality.

Lots of love
